Our species has a unique set of emotions and logical reasoning making us climb the food cycle and grow beyond it (Yup' We get our food from the chain, still technically we are not in the food chain and we have redesigned our food chain far from the nature)
The fight for resources is still carried out and the very nature of war is to fight for resources. parallel there are millions of people suffering due to hunger, lack of basic facilities, shelter, and so on.
on the other side its quite interesting to see millions of tons of food wasted due to reasons such as lack of storage, improper supply chain etc. On the bright side there are people who can deliver sophisticated machines beyond space, but right down here we couldn't make the surplus reach the needed.
The very reason is not that people couldn't but its that People won't. We have developed a system over laws of trade and the trade laws were derived to take advantages of each others skill set and waging wars strategically.
"Survival of the Fittest" Sounds familiar! since the dawn of civilization its evident that people explore opportunities and fight to sustain and benefit of that opportunities and our humanitarian laws are derived of it.
From the beginning its all about being the safe safe and not saving the tribe. People were programmed, mentored and raised fight for them as themselves, their family, community, nation, etc.
Never the less people realize we are on the same planet and we have enough to share among selves and we don't need to fight for resources.
